My Journey
My name is Jessie and I am the artist here at Jessie Wheldon Art.
I am based in Launceston, Tasmania and have lived here most of my life, apart from a few years working in Melbourne!
Apart from studying art in college, I am a self taught artist of contemporary abstract, landscape and portrait paintings.
I rediscovered my passion for art after having children and I’ve been painting ever since.
My incredible family have been nothing but supportive of my desire to paint. My husband Nathan, who creates his art in the form of writing music. My daughter Charlie, 8 years old, she's an artist in the making. Lastly, my son Harry who is 4, he takes after his dad and loves music and instruments. we're an arty family! I'd be absolutely lost without them.
Im a hairdresser by trade, which I've been doing for 12 years. I specialise in hair styling for special events such as weddings, which I believe has lead me to my interest in painting.
I instantly feel at ease when I paint and have found my true passion in painting seascapes. I also love being creative and painting abstract art inspired by the things I see around me.
Theres something incredible about being able to express myself through painting and see my ideas come to life on a canvas. Whats more rewarding is when others see the beauty in my work too.
